There was LUD update on my i-485 on 02/05/2009 and 02/10/2009 with no change in the content of the message. Not sure what the update is for. Similarly there was LUD update on my wife's I-485 on 02/10/2009 and 02/11/2009 without any change in the content of the message.

Did anybody notice this in the IRS communication that was sent out to taxpayers:
For taxpyers, the amount of money will be "reduced" or " completely phased out" for individuals making adjusted gross income or more than $75K ( or more than $150 if married and filing jointly).
How about that?
Not surprising. People who earn $75K (single) or $150K (as a couple) are not the ones who drastically change their lifestyles because of recession or high gas prices. In fact these people are anyways earning much above the national average. It's the low/middle-income folks that bear the brunt of high inflation and soaring gas prices...they are the ones being goaded into spending.
Anyways, think twice before you spend the rebate foolishly. Why not send it to IV, contribute to an IRA or fund your kid's 529 plan?

Gurus, my I-140 petition is pending due to Retrogression.Any idea what would be the scenario when the Pending cases at the Philadelphia Backlog Elimination Centre come through? what i am trying to find here is how many of these cases would be Pre June 2002 ?As per my research,majority of Cases at the Philadelphia centre are post June 2002.

Please do not make false statements. You are trying to paint everyone with the same brush.
I had a Masters at the time EB3 was filed in 2002....from a top US school. The employer was okay with any category. The lawyer messed up...said that all categories were current and he knows best.

Seems like there are more such cases - there is a news item on this topic yesterday on www.immigration-law.com with the title "10/23/2008: Increasing Customer Reports of Denial of AC-21 Ported I-485 Applications Without NOID by USCIS Upon Petitioner's Withdrawal of Approved I-140 Petitions"
Seems like they too dont know whether its related to untrained USCIS staff's mistake or some other issue.

Clinton has spoken in our favor before, and I think that she voted nay now in order to later be part of a more visible (and politically-rewarding) solution for us.

Many IVers still wrongly believe that Hillary, Obama or Democrats are supportes of our cause. Let us get over this misconception as soon as possible to avoid any future disappointments. Also, please do let us know when Hilllary spoke in our support? I must have missed that. If you can't find that link, most probably its because it never happened. During the recent grand bargain bill her only proposed amendment was for family unification visas, if I remember correctly.
