A canadian citizen does not have to leave this country. But if your family members are not canadian citizens then they should leave. Also a canadian citizen can get a TN visa and work in US.
Instead you could just stay here till you get a similar job, and apply for 485 when visa numbers are available.
You should ask your company to not withdraw your petition.
Better to contact a lawyer.

See so many ppl getting their EADs in 15-20 days. Mine was filed in first week of May at NSC, still no news. From the LUDs, it doesn't appear anyone has touched the applications yet.
Are these fast approvals only from TSC or there r ppl from NSC who see 15-20 day approvals?

yes corret,
I do not understand the point of moving to Canada to come back to US when the retrogression seems to end(which never ends).
What is the point in moving to Canada and waiting for something from US. I would very well stay in US and wait. At least US is better than Canada on every aspect including $$$.
I would say, if you have PR and if you can get a very good satisfying job than what you are doing here which would add value down the line, then there is a point in moving. Just for the heck of having a PR, moving to Canada is not a wise thing to do.
I am sorry to tell you that by going to Canada, in the end you may be better off going back home. I lived there as a PR and I have many Canadian citizens that are tired of the lame system back in the Socialist Canada.

Sent emails to media using the tool. It was quick, I'm sure if many of us do it, it will be effective too.
Awesome !!!..Such an easy way to send email....Good Job IV, !!!...
Now is the time to create awareness and momentum leading upto the advocacy event. Please keep emailing and sending letters, this will work in our favour. Please continue asking friends and family to support.
It is quick and easy.

Here I want to make clear, FIFO for taking labor applications and sending ad instructions not for approving. I know depending on compilcation of cases(I think), some cases with PD 2005 get approved fast and cases with PD 2003 are taking longer. I dont know why all these mess in DOL, for taking the labor applications and sending ad instructions.

I don't think it bodes well for anything that is sent to the Table. This Senate Language Glossary has what "motion to table" means, essentially something that senate does not want to Consider. This Amendment(1249) is said to have been ordered "to lie on the table" not sure if it is same as the motion to table. But, I think we should hope for an amendment that does not have a table associated with its status.

1) Please sign up for monthly contributions. Monthly contributions help us plan ahead of time and commit our resources. Just $50 every month per person can have significant effect on the overall push that IV can plan. http://immigrationvoice.org/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=26&Itemid=44

Let us start a massive effort in this direction and make a year end push!
I did sometime back.
Given thanksgiving is barely a week away, we can be certain of the usual platitudes directed at immigrants - this is a good time to remind the average American how far they have strayed from their roots and forgotten the true sentiment behind the tradition. Immigrants have always been hated and reviled by those that got here earlier - but the current anti-immigrant sentiment is vastly different in scale and sophistry due to the times we live in. If every IV member signs up 10 citizens to the immigrant cause, we should easily be 100,000 strong in a couple of weeks. It could be anyone from your advisor at school who mentored you to your buddies at work - even the stinkin relatives should be harassed. Though CIS and Numbersusa pretend that they are a product of the current anti-illegal sentiment, they started out much before the so-called 'wave' started. And they have adapted and honed their strategies very well to crush whatever relief Congress contemplates/passes. Consider the way CIS was initially dedicated to 'researching' immigrant issues that they would complain about the media's positive stories about immigrant contributions as merely anecdotal evidence not worthy of rebuttal. Now they are suddenly fond of anecdotal evidence themselves since experts began demolishing their claims of job-stealing and other baseless charges convincingly(esp CFR's Sebastian Mallaby) using empirical evidence-they shamelessly stoop to use someone's sob story to make their case. So, as repugnant as their motives are, they are too transparent for their own good- and they can't cover their tracks -which is good for us since we are appealing to the fair minded. Remember - every one in the US is an immigrant or an offspring of one. They have always been hated and reviled -so if someone who benefited from the immigrant tradition of this nation wants to turn around and deny it to those following him/her even though their ancestors did the same thing at a great emotional/economic cost to the then existing natives- they have a higher bar in explaining why the current bunch shouldn't continue to benefit from the great tradition-merely being bigoted but sophisticated enough to hide it isn't enough. so don't lose heart but dont sit on your ass either.

I and my wife got our approved EADs in our hand in 17 days (Mailing day to USCIS to recevied date by us). Only strange thing is that my EAD is valid from 06/2008 to 06/2009. I thought the new EADs validity would begin when the existing expires. My existing EAD expires on 09/19/2008. I lost 3 months with this renewal.
USCIS has been unfair in renewing EAD.
What about writing a letter to them? - by grace of God, if they do realize, they may give properly - for 2 years.
Nothing wrong in trying.

I guess they are very low in numbers. Thats why they moved the PD to 2006.
Again when I say low , it could be low number of ripe cases.
I'm one them - see my sig. Waiting for NSC to process my case

Your calculations are way too optimistic.
If a regular IV member is spending 1000$ on credit card why cannot he/she not contribute 50/100 $ per month to IV. I dont know about you or others but I use the credit card is gives best deal for the month for that month.
As far as contributing money to IV, again its not about monitory constraints but about making our self give some money for our own cause.
Well, If you sign up for IV credit card, the contributor is not paying from his pocket. It's the bank, who is paying for him, and contributor will keep earning miles/reward point as with any other credit card so it should make ZERO difference for card holder.
Its like finding a advertising sponsor for any of the IV event, except this is one time effort.
the earning could be huge. lets do simple math.
Average CC monthly bill = $1000 , 2% of $1000= $20.
20 * 20k = 40K monthly contribution.
Now think how hard is it to raise 40K monthly using our regular fund raising ?
Basic problem with fund raising is, once person gets his EAD/GC , he stops visiting IV website, I am sure he/she still supports the cause by heart but it just happens that he does not visit this site and does not notice our fund raising drive ( and as a result, we call them selfish :p) .
But if he is carrying IV credit card , its very easy for him to pick up that CC and swipe every time he makes purchase and support the cause.
Hope you get an idea :).

Due to family constrains I might be taking some breaks in future which I think I can do with EAD(but not sure ) and on pending I-485 ( I am the dependent of the Primary applicant of the GC).
On H1 I know for sure I cannot take this break for even 3 months without pay stubs. So I was working hard without breaks on H1.
But once I am on EAD status Am I allowed to take breaks between the contract jobs.
So My question is... Can a dependent of a primary applicant on an EAD, AOS pending status allowed to take breaks between jobs?
Thanks again for your replies

I agree with what you say. Yes, backlogged victims need some justice at this moment, otherwise there it is morally not good for everyone.
1. Why don't we petition first before thinking of Lawsuit. We from IV should write a letter to USCIS stating the injustice brought to the backlogged victims and how it is mentally affecting them etc. We should ask USCIS to consider these things and come up with a solution for backlogged victims instead of threatening DOS and others with Lawsuit. Since we are at their mercy, there is nothing wrong in keeping them higher up and at the same time getting what we want.
2. If the petition did not work out, then we can think about some suit. Still I don't agree with any suit as it is not going to bring justice. By the time the suit clears, you will have your GC in hand.

The Melting Pot diversity policies from the '60s were devised on a spirit of Family Reunification, but also to ensure that the US was not overwhelmed by any one country
In this spirit the concept of Per Country Quota makes some sense.
Hermoine, it is not an argument about whether X more go to India or whatever country.
The problem with Per Country limits makes no sense when the same theory is applied to visa's granted because of Skill. Employability has nothing to do with ethnicity (in fact, there are laws that prevent this type of discrimination by employers). It just so happens that currently India and China, due to their educational focus has a lot of people with skills that American industry wants. Who knows, in 10 years this could change and those skills could come from Mauritius and Lichtenstein and then they would be backlogged instead.
The main objection with per country caps for skilled employment is that it places discrimination based on ethnicity. It should be fair for everyone, not ones that happen to be from under subscribed countries. The concept of FIFO should be upheld.
Yes, I'm ROW, and will argue to my dying breath that per country caps for employment must be abolished. It exasperates backlogs and in discrimantory
