I saw an update in my case status on July 10th.
It says, RFE received and case reprocessing started..what does this mean?
anybody else has seen this?

This is a standard response message which comes after USCIS receives the response to RFE and resumes case processing.
There is no way to determine when the case would be adjudicated and what will be the result. It could happen next week or take months.

It seems that the TSC is processing the applications in the alphabetical order of the state. The info is based on some chinese forum. I am not sure how true the info is.
Are there any one from New York/New Jersey who have already got the receipt numbers? I have filed from NY and no info yet on our I-485. BTW, I am a july 2nd filer.

I'm grateful that individual law firms provide some free information. I like(and thankful to) Mathew Oh's concise, to the point information.

I believe finger print needs to be obtained somehow to varify the person. Hope it is not damaged too much. Why dont you try to obtain a doctor's letter stating that she had some blisters and is recovering? Usually for ladies it shouldn't be much of an issue but just as a precaution. The POE officers are usually good towards Indian ladies, particularly when they travel alone. So dont worry too much.

July first week: RFE response sent
July last week: Approval notice sent
August first week: approval notice received
Documents requested for RFE (also suggested by lawyer):
- Client Letter, role/responsibilities, duties, technologies used, company profile etc.
This letter also clearly stated all entities involved and their relationships with each other.
- Purchase Order and Other contract related stuff (all possible). Everyone co-operated.
- Badge (main bulding, her office), timesheets
- photos (cubicle/office building,company logo etc), login screen, machine etc, client phone directory
- copies of recent pay stub and offer letter, job duties
Thanks to everyone who contribute on this forum. It helped us a lot. This is for my wife.

I entered US on H4. Then applied for H1 for software job. worked for 2 months last yr and then went for maternity leave.
Now I started working again and I still have to go for stamping.
I have completed CPA and I would like to move to an accounting firm ( they have to file my H1 transfer with accounting domain).
Is this going to cause any problem during H1 transfer or stamping??
Please advise me...

I am not sure how h1 transfers work in case it is different profession.
I guess they should work fine because people can have multiple skills, some people gain skills over time like say, people do MS or MBA while on h1b, and then apply for a different kind of job and get a transfer.
Gurus must be able to answer this question.

I need an advice.
Last year, I petitioned for my husband to get his green card and I was in a rush to get the application in before the application fee shot up, so I forgot to make copies of all the documents being sent to USCIS. Now, the interview is next week and I don't have a few of the documents that they want us to bring. It says that if already submitted, I don't have to bring in those documents, but I've heard that sometimes the interviewers still demands them during the interview.
Is there any way of getting the documents from USCIS or is it lost forever?
We will have the interview next Thursday, 21st of February.

For us who are EB based, the EB backlog should be more realistic and I am not sure how do we get them!

The time spent in H4 does NOT count towards the 6 year H1 time. So in your case the H1 clock starts from Sep 2004.
